Benefit Stay Flawless Primer

Benefit Stay Flawless Primer 1
I wear a primer every time I wear any kind of foundation. My reasons? I find that a good primer smoothes the skin, minimizes the look of larger pores and truly makes my makeup last longer. Almost every primer I wear is a liquid product. When Benefit released its Stay Flawless stick primer, I was intrigued so I purchased it and put it in my queue to test.

Benefit’s Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer is described as a “magnet” for foundation, resulting in longer wear, better foundation performance and increased foundation coverage. A solid stick packaged in a twist up tube (like lip balm!), the packaging is super convenient and cute. There’s no spilling this one since it’s a solid so it’s perfect for travel.

The primary ingredients in this primer are oils and silicones, making Stay Flawless a VERY moisturizing primer. My skin absolutely loves it and I found it very comfortable to wear. Some primers dry out my skin are turn it flaky towards the end of the day but not this one! It was a complete pleasure to wear and I will get a lot of wear out of it this winter. I tend to think that Stay Flawless will be best for Normal to Very Dry skin types. I’m not so sure about it for Combination to Oily complexions.

As far as wear and “smoothing” is concerned, I find that it does prolong the wear of my makeup and definitely smoothes out the skin. It’s rare that I wear makeup for 15 hours (except for this week, when I’m at a conference and applying my makeup at 7am but not taking it off until after 10pm) so I can’t say that I tested it under those conditions. Honestly, I think it will be difficult to get 15 hours of wear for those of you with Oily or Combination skin types. Color-wise Stay Flawless goes on “clear” so don’t be put off by the color in the pictures.

At $32 per tube, this one is a little pricey but I definitely like it and can recommend it enthusiastically for those without oily skin. I purchased mine at Sephora but it is also available at Benefit’s website here.  If you need additional moisture, check this one out!

Have you tried Benefit’s Stay Flawless 15-Hour primer? What do you think?
