Product Review: Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Eye Palette

Ever since I first saw the ads for Bobbi Brown's Lilac Rose Collection, I knew I had to get the eyeshadow palette! It finally arrived and I've been testing it since late last week. Did it live up to my expectations? Click below to find out!

Upon first glance, I noticed that the palette is smaller than I thought it would be but that didn't deter me. Some of the best things come in small packages!

The palette contains eight eyeshadows, with finishes from matte to shimmer wash (a satin look) to metallic.

In the palette, the shadows look absolutely beautiful! The top tier of shadows are slightly cooler in tone than the bottom tier. When swatched, I found that their individual performance differed.

First off, Ivory and Pale Rose are very lightly pigmented. I really had to dig in to get the color payoff that you see above (for just those two). On my eyes, they don't really show up in a major way but instead, look very soft. Not that they are bad, I am just surprised as I'm used to more pigment from Bobbi Brown eyeshadows. At the opposite end of the spectrum is Black Chocolate, which is extremely pigmented and makes a great liner color or an outer V for a smoky eye. Pink Lily is fairly powdery coming off the pan but it is  beautiful on the eyes and I didn't notice any fallout. All of the other colors were beautiful as well!

For the look above, I'm wearing Ivory under the brow bone and in the inner half of the eye; Pale Rose on the outer half of the eye and slightly into the crease, Stormy Grey in the outer V, Black Chocolate as a liner on the upper and lower lids and then a touch of Pink Lily right in the middle of the lid and in the tear duct area. All of the shadows wore well throughout the day and I did not notice any fading before the eight hour mark.
